Library Mission statementThe St. Bernard Catholic School Library provides services and information to support the academic and recreational needs of the school community. Our Library will enable our students to become seekers of ideas and information, will help nurture a lifelong love of reading, will encourage a desire for lifelong learning, and most importantly, will build leaders for Christ.
What does that mean? All PK-8 students visit the library weekly for 30-45 minutes. During this time, students will enjoy a read aloud, explore new books of interest to them to check out, and also learn library and digital citizenship skills. I hope all students see themselves represented amongst the books on our shelves, finding stories that open their eyes to new ideas as well as characters they can relate to.
PK students can check out 1 book weekly to read at school. K-2 students can check out 1 book weekly to read at school or home. 3-8 students can check out 2 books weekly. |
